The people depicted in the film have had a range of reactions to the film.
In July 2007, in a piece for The Guardian, feminist author Germaine Greer vehemently expressed her displeasure at being depicted, writing, "You used to have to die before assorted hacks started munching your remains and modelling a new version of you out of their own excreta." Greer refused to be involved with the film, just as she declined to read Neville's memoir before it was published (he had offered to change anything she found offensive).
The film is based on a memoir by Richard Neville, editor of the Australian satirical magazine Oz, and chronicles his relationship with girlfriend Louise Ferrier, the launch of the London edition of Oz amidst the 1960s counterculture, and the staff's trial for distributing an obscene issue.
Hippie Hippie Shake stars Cillian Murphy as Richard Neville, with Sienna Miller as Louise.
Dining Grab a bite to eat at the condo's restaurant, which features a bar, or stay in and take advantage of room service (during limited hours). Quench your thirst at a bar/lounge, a beach bar, or a poolside bar. House keeping staff and room service are very attentive. Coming off the beach there are showers to remove sand. Room service food prices are reasonable which is rare. Especially, the gentleman bringing the luggage to our room and also our groceries. We were lucky our room faced the pool and the beach. Beautiful pool area and access to the beach as well.
Cooked-to-order breakfasts are available daily for a fee. Lots of activities if you want to participate and a movie night with popcorn. Staff is super friendly and don't mind answering your questions. Great rooms if you are lucky to get an ocean facing high floor room. Nice pool area and great oceanfront beach, but u pay extra for ocean beach chairs.
Private bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers feature deep soaking bathtubs and complimentary toiletries.
Amenities Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments, and facials. Came for a week over the summer and had an amazing time. Spa was cozy although it can only accommodate 2 guests at a time. Restaurant was good, although it didn't have too many vegetarian/vegan options. Hippie Hippie Shake is an unreleased British drama film produced by Working Title Films.Business, Other Amenities Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, limo/town car service, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Fantastic stay, as a female vacationing alone I always felt safe. The restaurant at the resort is reasonably priced especially the Nightly specials and Live Music was alot of Fun! There is also free valet parking which is a real plus if it rains. Tiki pool bar, Room service, spa and daily entertainment add to the experience. Palm Beach Shores is located off the beach on Singer Island. I visit this resort yearly as my aunt utilizes a time share there. The rooms I've seen all contain tile, a balcony with a view, a kitchenette, and a large bathroom. The restaurant often hires performers that wing music from the 50s. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite. The resort is clean, although to have so much glass and mirrors in room not enough attention spent making it sparkle. We also love the parrot who talks up a storm all day long. The room was off in a corner with a view of the parking lot. Overall my experiences here have been very pleasant. Spacious and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Screenwriter Don Macpherson was hired to write the adapted screenplay for the film, which was slated to begin production in 1999, depending on Working Title's status following the breakup of Poly Gram Filmed Entertainment. In May 2007, Working Title announced its third attempt to produce Hippie Hippie Shake, this time with director Beeban Kidron and screenwriter Lee Hall.
